W orking with art every day is a privilege—and also deeply inspiring. It's no surprise, then, that our global community of Sotheby's staff includes a handful of artists who are talented in their own right. You can see their work exhibited now in London and New York through 28 August as part of The Artists Among Us selling exhibition.

Choosing five for our Shortlist this week was like trying to single out favorite children—impossible! So, think of the below as a shoppable preview, but make sure you stop by New Bond Street and the Breuer building to see the works in person and discover the next big names in fine art.

Catherine Mac

Catherine Mac,Natural Beauty, 2017. Buy now for £750.

This cleverly constructed geometric swan is crafted from something you can find in any "offy" or Tesco in London: Lottery tickets. Look closely and you'll spot snippets of entry bubbles waiting to be filled in, but from far away, it's simply a bird about to take flight.

Catherine Mac is a Senior Client Liason based in London.

Dominick Walker

Dominick Walker, Coney Island, New York., 2025. Buy now for $500 .

In 2018, the Coney Island Boardwalk was designated a Scenic Landmark by the City of New York. This photograph, taken in 2025, captures the now defunct Coney Island Parachute Jump ride from a decidedly less scenic vantage point. It's a poignant juxtaposition, highlighting how the landmark exists within the city's complicated context.

Dominick Walker is a Logistics Coordinator for Wine Retail based in New York.

Georgia Boardman is a technician based in London.
