Mimi Fischer

Mimi Fischer has a strong background in art history and Nazi-era provenance research, and in her role as Global Restitution Specialist, oversees cross-departmental investigations of artworks from 1933–45. Before joining Sotheby’s, she worked for four years at the Art Loss Register as Provenance Researcher and was appointed as their Global Art Fair Manager in 2021.

After graduating with an MA in Art History in 2016, she worked as a researcher for the ‘Degenerate Art’ research Centre at Freie Universität Berlin. Mimi is a member of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung.
