Biography
Milaap Patel joined Sotheby’s in 2015, where he took on both specialist and business roles in Contemporary Art and Sotheby’s Financial Services. Since 2017 Milaap has been a member of Sotheby’s Private Client Group, where he manages and develops client relationships internationally, often with a Middle East and South Asia focus. He regularly travels to the region to work with collectors and collaborates closely with colleagues in the Dubai and Mumbai offices; he was instrumental in the success of the first fine art and luxury auctions in these locations. Milaap works with clients in every collecting category worldwide on both private sales and auctions, advising clients on their art acquisitions and sourcing major works for global sales. Milaap presents the full suite of Sotheby’s expertise and network to clients, including Valuations, Advisory, Fiduciary and Financial Services. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Milaap worked in finance, notably at Rothschild and Goldman Sachs, among other banking houses. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and History from The London School of Economics and an MA with Distinction in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
