Marie Louise Baak

Marie Louise Baak focuses on Nazi-era provenance research for artworks offered in Sotheby’s global salerooms. Based in Amsterdam, her regional expertise has proven especially valuable in navigating Dutch archival resources and contributing to the department’s broader global efforts, and serving as the department’s point of contact in the Netherlands. She also coordinates Sotheby’s network of external research associates.

Marie Louise completed her degree in Art History from Leiden University, where she conducted research on the ‘Gurlitt case’ . She is a member of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung.
