S pain might have won the World Cup, but the breakout stars of this year's tournament were, without a doubt, the bags. We first started to notice the burgeoning trend thanks to a certain blond-haired Norwegian Viking-type whose penchant for Hermès caught nearly everyone's eyes. But a quick perusal of the team arrival photos tells us that he is not the only player with an eye for luxurious leather goods. There was plenty of Hermès, yes, but Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Goyard all battled it out for Golden Bag status (there's no such thing, of course, but maybe there should be).
The good news is that our Marketplace is well-stocked with the most sought-after handbags, many of which are nearly identical to those we saw during the tournament. Here are our five favorites you can buy now.
Hermès HAC
We have to start with Hermès, which may as well have been an unofficial sponsor of the games. HACs, the oversized equestrian-inspired bags, were a particular favorite. Roomy and endlessly iterative, the beauty of the HAC is its versatility, as seen here in this limited edition version from 2026.
Goyard Clutch
We saw plenty of enormous bags in the arrivals and, perhaps surprisingly, just as many clutches. A few guys were even spotted using toiletry bags from Goyard and Dior as accessories. This Goyard is technically a wallet, but it will fit quite a bit more than some credit cards and cash.
Chanel Flap Bag
The biggest soccer players in the world were seen sporting large shopping totes from Chanel that you could easily imagine on the arm of a lunching lady instead. This "jumbo" quilted Flap Bag would have the same effect in a tunnel walk—or on your arm.
Louis Vuitton Keepall
The humble duffel bag is the OG of sportsman accessories. Louis Vuitton's Keepalls are not remotely humble, but they are elegant. They were also the bag of choice for several players including England's goal scorers. This version hails from Virgil Abloh's tenure as Creative Director, and therefore sports a distinctly cool lime-green handle, cross-body strap, and interior.
Hermès Kelly
The Hermès Kelly bag may just be the most ladylike on this list thanks to its classic shape and (typically) small size. We were pleased to see several players from the French team carrying these around. With its universal appeal, the Kelly deserves nothing more than the world’s biggest stage. This version is a summer classic thanks to the light Ecru toile.
