folio (303 x 194mm.), woodcut device on title-page and on final verso, woodcut initials, small woodcut portrait of Scanderbeg at start of text, contemporary calf with small gilt centrepiece and corner fleurons, occasional light foxing, a few repaired marginal wormholes at beginning and end, binding slightly scraped and rebacked with mottled calf


Second edition of Barlezio's hagiographical biography of Scanderbeg, which was first published in Rome in c. 1508-1510. This is the first German edition, with a dedication by Caspar Hedio to Albrecht of Baden-Durlach, who had taken part in the Austrian-Turkish war of 1526-1533.
