Three outstanding portraits by Francis Bacon, Jenny Saville and Albert Oehlen will lead Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Auction (26 June | London). In this episode of Expert Voices, discover the impact that massive life events had on each artists’ work and how art history forms a dialogue between them. ‘Self-Portrait’ from 1975 shows Francis Bacon emerging from the pain of mourning the death of his former lover George Dyer.
