Sotheby’s Wine is honoured to unveil one of the most extraordinary private wine collections ever assembled, offered across Paris, Hong Kong and London from December 2025 through December 2026.

Recently relocated from a magnificent renaissance château in Belgium, encircled by its original moat, the collection was meticulously curated over a lifetime by Willy Michiels. Over 29,000 bottles rest in seven purpose-built vaulted cellars–a true liquid encyclopaedia of the finest Bordeaux and Burgundy.

Spanning vintages from 1925 to 2012, the collection features landmark years in rare and coveted formats, predominantly mature wines at their peak, alongside younger vintages destined to evolve, reflecting a lifetime of devotion to provenance, rarity, and the art of collecting.

The inaugural sale will take place in Paris on 16 December, accompanied by an online sale closing on 18 December, offering collectors around the world their first opportunity to experience this remarkable collection.

The journey continues beyond Paris. The remainder of the collection will travel across the globe through three landmark sales in 2026: Hong Kong on 14 March, London in the spring, and finally Paris in the second half of the year, where a grand finale will honor a lifetime devoted to the art of collecting.
