Widely celebrated as the father of modern sculpture, Constantin Brancusi captured the pioneering spirit of the 20th-century avant-garde. A major exhibition at H’ART Museum, organized in collaboration with the Centre Georges Pompidou, brings over 30 of his masterpieces to Amsterdam, displayed alongside the artist’s original pedestals, photographs and films. The exhibition traces Brancusi’s lifelong quest to reveal “the essence of things,” and explores how his smooth, pure forms revolutionized sculpture and ushered in a new artistic language. Visitors will follow a themed route that includes “the Essence of Things,” “Animals” and “the Relationship with Architecture,” organized around his major serial works for a striking and immersive overview of Brancusi’s radical artistic universe.
