One of thirty-three bindings known with an unidentified monogram, associated with Denis de Sallo (1626-1669), the elder son of Jacques de Sallo (d. 1648) by the nineteenth-century French bibliographer Joannis Guigard, but manifestly bound decades before Denis de Sallo came of age.

16mo (118 x 79 mm). Roman type, 27 lines plus headline. collation: A-G8; A-I8: 56 + 72 leaves (last leaf blank). Title of first work with woodcut device, second work with woodcut device on I7, ruled in red.
binding: Contemporary French ivory vellum (122 x 84 mm), gilt fillet round sides, gilt cartouche in centre of both covers containing monogram of a pair of interlaced Δs and Σs on upper cover and Ds and Ss on lower, flat spine gilt with small star stamps and lettered at foot "TESTA·|PATRI|ARCH·|LAT·|GAL", gilt edges, section of medieval manuscript visible as binder's waste.
