Jon Bøe Paulsen is a Norwegian artist. He attended the Eksamen Artium, Oslo, Norway 1977, School of Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA, USA 1979, and the Norwegian State Art Academy, Oslo, Norway 1980-1984. He has been a professional artist for well over 30 years. His works have been exhibited across Europe and within the United States. In 1990, Bøe Paulsen was the subject of a television documentary on his life titled The Painting Was My First Love, directed by Tor M. Tørstad. This documentary was nominated for the Amanda Award in the category "Best Documentary" at the Norwegian Film Festival, Haugesund. Norway. His works have been illustrated in a long list of magazines and books including the Circle Quarterly Art Review, Exquisite Arts Magazine, and International Artist Magazine, to name a few.


He is best known for his portraits and narrative figurative works which are imbued with a sense of intrigue and mystery. His ability to capture emotion and subtle facial expressions are striking and his use of dramatic lighting is a hallmark of his work.
