This biographical film was directed by Tom Gries and stars Muhammad Ali as himself. The film is based on the book The Greatest: My Own Story, by Muhammad Ali and Richard Durham. It chronicles the life of the boxer from the 1960 Summer Olympics to his 'Rumble in the Jungle' fight against George Foreman in 1974, when Ali regained his heavyweight title. The film includes mainly reel footage of the boxing matches.
