Help! poster, Japan, 1965


(91.5 x 58.5 cm), paper, backed on linen, premiere style, very good condition, with the colours remaining very bright, minor restoration to the centre fold, and several small surface abrasions


This design was only used on this poster for the premiere of the film in Japan, and is the rarest of the Japanese posters on this title. A different poster was then used for the main release.

Help! is a musical comedy directed by Richard Lester, after his success with A Hard Day's Night the previous year. The Beatles are the main stars of the film, however it also features many other famous actors. The film premiered on the 29th July 1965 at the London Pavilion Theatre, and a week later the film's soundtrack was released as an album. Magical Mystery Tour was a film made for television, which featured The Beatles. A group of eccentric people travel through the British countryside on a magical mystery tour.
