William Wegman (born 1943, Holyoke, Massachusetts), is an artist whose paintings, drawings, videos and photographs have been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally. He is best known for his work featuring his Weimaraners, a collaboration which began in the 70s with his dog Man Ray and which continues today with Flo and Topper. Wegman and his dogs have appeared on David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, Sesame Street, the cover of The New Yorker and French Vogue. Recent exhibitions include “Before/On/After: William Wegman and California Conceptualism” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and “William Wegman: Being Human,” a traveling exhibition of his large format Polaroids which began in Rencontres d’Arles in 2018 and will travel through 2021.
