This November, Sotheby’s Arte Contemporanea in Milan will present a curated ensemble of important works by celebrated masters from the post-war period right up to the present day.
The sale will include seminal pieces by some of the most acclaimed Italian artists, including but not limited to Salvatore Scarpitta, Lucio Fontana and Giorgio Morandi, as well as a condensed survery on Arte Povera with exemplary pieces by Alighiero Boetti, Jannis Kounellis and Pier Paolo Calzolari. The sale will also be underpinned by the work of contemporary icons such as Kenneth Noland, George Condo and Robert Indiana among others.
Additionally, there will be a stand-alone sale session dedicated to Fausto Melotti, titled Ceramics from a Private Italian Collection, featuring a superb assortment of the artist’s most iconic ceramic production.
