S otheby's sale, Berluti: The Art of Craftsmanship*,will not only be an opportunity to own expertly crafted bespoke items from the legendary shoe and leather brand, but also to raise money for charity.
Amongst the 14 lots in the sale, all of which exemplify the exceptional craftsmanship and iconic Venezia leather of Berluti, is a gym kit including custom made dumbbells signed by former Chelsea footballing legend Didier Drogba, proceeds from which will be donated to the Didier Drogba Foundation.
The two-time African Footballer of the Year and former captain of the Ivory Coast national team helped Chelsea to win four Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the 2012 Champions League during his time playing for the London club.
Since 2007, when his foundation was created, he has used his international status to improve health, education and empowerment in African countries. This has included creating the continent’s first mobile cardiology unit in partnership with the Heart Foundation, raising money for HIV-positive children in Africa and tackling the spread of Ebola.
The foundation’s incredible work will be boosted by the proceeds from the sale of the Drogba-signed lot in the upcoming Berluti sale. Bespoke leather-trimmed 4kg dumbbells created in collaboration with high-end German fitness supplier Hock Design, are made for a very special workout and are accompanied by a classically designed Vitello Fiore leather backpack, also signed by the footballer. With no reserve and bids starting at just €50 for these unique collectibles, it's the perfect opportunity for anyone to help raise money for a great cause.
