Created in late summer 2024, ‘Gatekeeper Fantasy’ is a unique 1/1 work that exists as an extension of Chuck’s larger body of work and long form project ‘IMAGINED WRECKAGE’. The base of the work is a composite of 3 unique AI outputs that forms a large chainlink fence foundation on which surreal crystalline cellophane, flowers, metal hardware, glass panels and other strangely familiar yet alien iridescent materials are collaged in. Influencing the work is the artist’s travels through his hometown Chicago; regularly observing alleyways, building sites for both construction and demolition and viewing the surrounding fencing as industrial, urban dreamcatchers for everyday pedestrians.
