NY 31902 and struck '18K', with stamped van Cleef & Arpels leather pouch;

the cigarette case rectangular with rounded corners, decorated with fluted diagonal bands, sapphire cabochon thumbpiece, the interior of the lid engraved with a presentation inscription reading: Mrs. E.R. Henschell, 14 E. 57 N.Y., the rim spuriously inscribed 'van Cleef & Arpels N.Y. 5858', further struck '18K',
