Led by Vincent van Gogh’s vibrant L’Allée des Alyscamps, Sotheby's Impressionist & Modern Art Evening sale achieved $368.3 million, surpassing its pre-sale high estimate of $351 million. More than a third of works, including those from the venerable Goldwyn Collection and Jerome H. Stone Collection, came to auction after more than 50 years and were met with global participation: Asian private collectors purchased three of the sale's five leading lots.
