Sotheby’s Leads Asia for the Third Year in a Row

Hong Kong

With auction sales reaching US$1 billion in 2018, Sotheby’s has enjoyed the best year in its 45-year history in Asia. It is also the third year in a row that Sotheby’s has been the market leader among all auction houses in the region. Led by Zao Wou-Ki’s monumental ‘Juin-Octobre 1985’, which became the most valuable painting sold by any auction house in Hong Kong when it sold for US$65 million, Sotheby’s leads the way in virtually all categories, setting 40 other auction records in 2018. As the year draws to a close, join us and take a look back at the most thrilling highlights of this historic year.
