Unwrapped – The Hidden World of Christo and Jeanne Claude

17 FEBRUARY 2021 | PARIS

Together with his partner Jeanne-Claude, Christo’s spectacular installations transformed the public’s perception of what art can be. The range of their artistic inspirations has until now, though, remained entirely private. In February 2021, works from the long-time New York studio and home of the internationally renowned artists will be offered for auction at Sotheby’s in Paris. The Collection of Christo and Jeanne-Claude gives a first glimpse of the friendships and connections that surrounded them through selected works by Andy Warhol, Yves Klein, Lucio Fontana, Claes Oldenburg, Marcel Duchamp, Nam June Paik, and many more. Sotheby’s auction joins the list of events taking place throughout 2021 to celebrate Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s magical vision, culminating in the wrapping of the Arc de Triomphe in their beloved Paris.
