Lucio Fontana - The Poetry of Perforation

Milan | November 2016

Lucio Fontana is considered the most influential Italian artist of the post-war period. In his masterpiece 'Concetto Spaziale, Attesa', Fontana contrasts the gentle smooth traces left by a series of holes with the strict elegance of the horizontal stripes on the canvas. The work is a highlight of Sotheby’s Arte Moderna e Contemporanea sale in Milan on 23-24 November.
