A multi-million-dollar business that embraces multiple genres spanning comic books, anime and gaming, Manga is a worldwide cultural phenomenon that has forged a new international visual language. With its influence seen in different fields ranging from fashion, film and contemporary art, Manga is not only deeply embedded in everyday life but celebrated by many as a new arena of collectible art. Sotheby’s Hong Kong presents 93 works of Manga in a special selling exhibition at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery (29 April–8 May) followed by 60 works offered online in Contemporary Showcase: Manga (5–11 May).
