Our Arts of the Islamic World auction will take place in London on 8 October 2014. Benedict Carter introduces some of the sale’s highlights including an exceptional Iznik blue and white pottery dish from Turkey, circa 1520, a brass astrolabe made by Al-Ahmar Al-Nujumi Al-Rumi for the treasury of the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II, and an illustrated and illuminated leaf from a copy of Sa’di’s Gulistan.
