Sotheby’s is honoured to present an exquisite leaf from the incomparable Shahnameh of Shah Tahmasp, as the highlight of the Arts of the Islamic World & India auction on the 26th of October. Attributed to the artist Mirza ‘Ali, the illustrated page is a monumental achievement of artistic skill and patronage. It is universally acknowledged as one of the supreme illustrated manuscripts of any period or culture and among the greatest works of art in the world.
