On 6 September, Sotheby’s Los Angeles joined New Frontier, a Sundance Institute initiative, for a dynamic evening on art in the digital age. Now in its tenth year, New Frontier fosters innovative storytelling in new media through artist residencies and labs. The evening kicked off with a viewing of work by New Frontier artists including Pattern Language by Peter Burr, followed by a panel led by Sotheby’s Eric Shiner at Marc Selwyn Fine Art. Burr joined artist Nao Bustamante and Ruthie Doyle, manager of New Frontier Labs, for a discussion about evolving artistic mediums and traditions. Conversation continued as guests mingled with the evening’s hosts Keri Putnam, Executive Director of the Sundance Institute, and gallerist Marc Selwyn, at a cocktail reception and dinner.
