On 1 June, Sotheby’s and Saks Fifth Avenue welcomed guests to a reception in celebration of The Advance, a section dedicated to visionary designers at the forefront of fashion on the department store’s revamped fifth floor. Sotheby's Wine provided summer whites and rosés, while garments by Rick Owens, Comme des Garçons, Rosie Assoulin and more were paired with furniture and decorative objects from Sotheby’s upcoming design sales in complementary vignettes. With over 7,000-square-feet of gallery-like space, The Advance made for an expansive and stylish venue to view pieces by design titans, including François-Xavier Lalanne, George Nakashima, Hans Wegner and Frank Lloyd Wright.
