Ring, 'Iophassa', Braque for Heber de Lowenfeld, 1960s.
Estimate £4,000–5,000.

In 1961, while meditating in front of his painting Tête greque, Braque put a small photograph of the painting on a piece of cardboard, which he placed on his finger, thinking that it could be made into a cameo . Thus Braque came to devote the last two years of his life to designing jewellery with Lôwenfeld. Together they created 113 jewels, each given a mythological name by Lôwenfeld.
