Centred on a carved nephrite scarab set with rose diamonds, with wings applied with red, green and light blue enamel and accented with circular-cut rubies, maker's mark for Carl Bacher.

Condition

Reverse with stamped initials CB for Carl Bacher. Nephrite dark green, opaque. Rubies mid pinkish-red, transparent, with typical inclusions visible under magnification, some with small chips. Diamonds bright and lively. Enamel in good condition, some minor burst bubbles and unevenness to surface. Discolouration to metal, traces of solder to juncture of one ring and scarab setting. Scratches to surfaces consistent with wear. Overall length approximately 50mm. Brooch fitting in good working order, closing securely. In good condition, consistent with age.
