TWO GEM SET BROOCHES, CHANTECLER

Each designed as a bird pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, circular-cut, baguette and tapered baguette sapphires, emeralds and rubies, one bird resting on a coral branch, each signed Chantecler, Italian maker's marks.

Each stamped 750 to reverse, signed Chantecler, one with Italian maker's marks, one 1035 AL, one indistinct. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weights approximately 3.00-4.00 carats (larger brooch) and 2.50 - 3.50 carats (smaller brooch). Rubies deep purplish-red, emeralds mid green, sapphires deep blue, all transparent, all with typical minor inclusions visible under magnification, some with areas of minor wear and chipping to facet edges. Coral mid orangey pink, opaque, with typical structure and colour mottling visible, with light surface scratches and small areas of very minor chipping. Brooch fittings secure, larger brooch pin not fitting into clasp but with good tension. Overall dimensions approximately 73 x 56mm and 67 x 39mm respectively, combined weight approximately 44 grams. Light scratches to metal, coral and stone surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
