Geek Week 2026 will feature three live auctions including some of the most important and exciting items Sotheby’s Science & Natural History Department has ever offered. Natural History, including Gus Rex; Space Exploration, including Property from the Buzz Aldrin Family Trust; and The History of Science & Technology, including property from the Family of Richard P. Feynman for a week of sales unlike any other.

This year’s Natural History sale is headlined by “Gus Rex”, a 38-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton found in South Dakota. Other fantastic fossils in the sale include a full T. rex leg, the partial skull of an Allosaurus, and two exceptionally rare nestling hadrosaurid dinosaurs presented in matrix. There is also a superlative selection of American and international meteorites and minerals, alongside one of the most important collections of early human tools and figure stones ever offered at auction.

The History of Science & Technology auction features an incredible and diverse collection of American gems: a fully operational Apple-1 computer, consigned by the first and only owner who purchased it directly from the Byte Shop; a large cache of manuscripts from Richard P. Feynman, America’s greatest genius; the solid gold medal won by geochemist Clair Patterson for determining the age of the Earth, and an original model of DNA created by Crick and Watson and given to fellow Nobel Laureate Linus Pauling.

Not to be outdone, Sotheby’s Space Exploration sale will feature some of the most important artifacts from the history of human spaceflight, including Buzz Aldrin’s famous pen and broken switch from the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, alongside other artifacts including for the first time, watches from Buzz's personal collection. The sale also features a superb collection from Apollo 14 CMP Stuart Roosa including his full Inflight Coverall Suit, worn to the moon and back on Apollo 14.
