Austria’s largest art museum houses the Hapsburg imperial collections – and many more treasures

In early 2013, this museum reopened its famous Kunstkamme, the Chamber of Arts and Wonders, which is the most important collection of its kind in the world. Twenty newly-installed galleries invite you to experience more than 2,200 significant works of art. Among its highlights are examples of goldsmithing including the celebrated Saliera by Benvenuto Cellini, outstanding sculptures such as the Krumau Madonna, magnificent bronze statuettes, delicate and bizarre ivories and precious stone vessels, as well as valuable clocks, elaborate automatons, strange scientific instruments and sumptuous game boards.
