S otheby’s annual Contemporary Photographs auction in New York will showcase significant works by photographers such as Wolfgang Tillmans, Rineke Dijkstra, Candida Höfer, Louise Lawler, Anne Collier, Ana Mendieta, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Vik Muniz, Alec Soth, Thomas Struth, Gillian Wearing, Lorna Simpson, Maurizio Cattelan, and many more. Online bidding will be open from 26 September until 7 October. A pre-sale exhibition of highlights will be on view at Sotheby’s New York, from 26 September to 6 October.

Wolfgang Tillmans

Wolfgang Tillmans is represented by three works in the Contemporary Photographs auction, including two important, imposing Freischswimmer works. Tillman’s retrospective, To Look Without Fear, currently on view at The Museum of Modern Art, is a not-to-be-missed highlight of the fall/winter museum exhibition season.
