Sotheby’s are the established market leaders for Scottish Art with a dedicated annual sale in London as well as a travelling exhibition to Edinburgh. In the last two years Sotheby’s Scottish Art Sales have totalled over £9.5 million with exceptional prices for works by Sir John Lavery, The Colourists, The Glasgow Boys, Anne Redpath, Sir Robin Philipson, Joan Eardley, John Bellany, Peter Howson and many others. In 2018 Sotheby’s were delighted to offer The Colourists: Pictures from the Harrison Collection a unique single owner collection of works once owned by Major Ion R. Harrison an important patron and friend of the Colourists. The sale totalled over £4.5 million and set a new auction record for Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell and reinforced Sotheby’s position as the leading auction house for the work of the Scottish Colourists.
