of book form, the lid applied with rose-cut diamond-set lettering reading souvenir d’amitie, on a translucent blue enamel ground over zig-zag engine-turning, within split pearl borders, the side decorated as a spine with paillon compartments, the reverse painted with Telemachus imploring Minerva, the interior later fitted as a boite-à-mouche with a mirror and five bright-cut lidded compartments, a gold brush mount and blotting paper, apparently unmarked
