Description
rectangular with rounded corners, the lid applied with an earlier rectangular enamel plaque painted with Madonna della Seggiola after Raphael, on a sablé ground chased with scrollwork and rosettes to each corner, the sides and base decorated with engine-turning, the latter further chased with foliate borders including interlaced serpents, apparently unmarked
length 8.7 cm; 3 3/8 in.
