rectangular with cut corners, the lid painted en plein with a mythological subject, within arrowhead paillon borders in blue and white, the sides and base with translucent dark blue enamel over bands of scale engine-turning, within opaque white and blue enamel bands, maker’s mark, Hanau shell control mark for 18ct gold, later French hibou control mark,
