circular, the lid overlaid with gold openwork chased with a stag hunt after Jean-Baptiste Oudry, a huntsman sounding his horn to the right, surrounded by trees and rococo scrollwork crowned by a lambrequin, the slightly waisted sides overlaid with a finely-chased continuous landscape with a picnicking couple, a horse tethered to a ruin, interspersed with a windmill, a small temple, a bird perched on a bold scroll and barking dogs, the bottom overlaid with a narrow border of pierced scrollwork, reeded gold footrim, the thumbpiece set with seven diamonds, apparently unmarked,
