Description

both covers chased with beaded oval frames suspended from ribbon-bows, with crossed branches below, sprays of flowers at the angles all on striated ground the spine with repeated flowerheads, openwork clasps chased with a floral pendant fitted with a prayerbook, published by Bragadini, 1749, with frontispiece illustrating the "three women's mitzvot" including lighting the lamp for the Sabbath, the silver apparently unmarked

The binding is fitted with an Ashkenazic-rite women's prayer book, printed in Venice by Bragadini in 1749, with a frontispiece illustrating the three "women's mitzvot": kindling the Sabbath lamp, removing a portion of dough for challah, and observing the menstrual laws.
