A Sèvres porcelain gilt-bronze mounted vase (vase étrusque carafe 1ère grandeur), 1832


after drawings by Jean-Charles-François Leloy, the mounts by Louis-Honoré Boquet, the painting by Etienne-Charles Leguay and François-Hubert Barbin, painted with allegorical figures of La Valeur and le Génie de Mars (the title transposes the allegorical figures of the génie de Mars and Bellone) after Anne-Louis Girodet de Roucy-Trioson amongst clouds, with titled panels, the third and fourth panels reserved respectively with a roundel of a rearing horse and a roundel of a lioness, reserved against a Roman standard, surmounted by a panel with the initial B, divided by trophies and laurels, between claret-ground sections painted with stiff leaf bands, the neck and foot with rosettes, leaves and vertical bars, the rim with band of scrolling foliage, the reeded handles cast with acanthus, supported by a square base, signed Le Guay
