woven with an unidentified fictional secular or sacred narrative, woven with a group of various figures in courtly attire, on two registers, including two equestrian figures, the foreground with a standing male figure holding a helmet and a kneeling figure of a gentleman giving a letter to a standing figure of a lady, surrounded by onlookers, the top register with figures including a lady holding out a sword and another holding up a girdle, flanked by soldiers; reduced in size

approximately 302cm high, 157.5cm wide; 9ft 9in, 5ft 1in.
