each pencil drawing a full length image of John Lennon walking forward, each with added pencil colour and some annotations at foot of each sheet; [with] a scan of a letter of provenance from animator Dennis Hunt, each drawing: 140.5 x 65mm, each sheet: 302 x 400.5mm, majority of sheets with some discolouration at one edge. Overall condition very good


these five original preliminary production drawings were done by animator Dennis Hunt. In the accompanying letter Hunt recounts “The transition from Frank to John [in the film Yellow Submarine was originally long – but it looked grotesque. We cut it down to just two drawings…I had to adjust John’s main drawing too (can’t remember why!). So had to re-do the transition…”
