A large oval silver and hardstones mirror, probably Segovia circa 1760 by a member of the Najera family
the frame applied with twelve cartouches, six of them with cherubs, the frame top with three pierced motives, the whole frame with lapis and malachite cabochons
97 x 68 cm; 38 ¼x 26 3/4in.

le cadre chantourné appliqué de douze cartouches dont six ornés de chérubins, le haut du cadre orné de trois motifs ajourés, le cadre serti de cabochons de lapis et malachite
97 x 68 cm; 38 ¼x 26 3/4in.
This mirror is stamped with town mark and a maker's mark NA/JERA. Cristina Esteras Martin very kindly indicated that this could be either the mark of Balthazar de Najera (1698-1771) or that of his son José for whom we do not have precise information, just that he was active around 1732.

Ce miroir est estampillé d'une marque de ville et d'une marque de fabricant NA/JERA. Cristina Esteras Martin a très aimablement indiqué qu'il pourrait s'agir de la marque de Balthazar de Najera (1698-1771) ou de celle de son fils José pour lequel nous n'avons pas d'informations précises, juste qu'il était actif vers 1732.
