Diana with her hounds

bronze

50cm., 19¾in.

The bronze overall is in very good condition. There is general wear to the patina consistent with age, mainly on the high modelled areas, notably on the heads of the dogs. There are hairline original casting joints in the top section of the tree where it joins at the level of the top of the drapery, in front of the base of the tree, near the back of Diana’s left heel, above Diana’s left knee and on the body and right leg of the dog with his head lowered. Diana’s right index finger is restored. There are original circular casting plugs faintly visible on Diana’s chest and right shoulder, and three around the base of the tree, one of which is slightly sunk. There is general surface dirt, otherwise the condition is very good.
