2 volumes, 8vo (177 x 116mm.), half-titles, engraved portrait frontispieces of La Fontaine and Eisen by Fiquet after Rigaud and Vispré, 80 plates by Eisen engraved by Aliamet and others, 4 vignettes and 53 culs-de-lampe by Choffard, plates for "La cas de conscience" and "La diable de Papefiguière" in couverte state, contemporary black or navy morocco gilt with a gilt monogram on covers (JLT?), spines gilt in compartments, gilt edges, later marbled slipcases, spines faded
The "Fermiers Généraux" edition, with Eisen's fine illustrations, some of which were reworked to make them more decorous.
