4to (220 x 156mm.), engraved title-page, with initial blank leaf and two final blank leaves, contemporary tan morocco gilt with the arms of Pope Urban VIII and a bee stamp in the corners, spine gilt in compartments with a smaller bee stamp, gilt edges, ink inventory number 287 at head of each cover, lower corner of title-page torn (just touching image), occasional light browning, binding slightly rubbed, joints cracking
All the binding tools (with the exception of the smaller bees) appear on plate X of Legatura romana barocca 1565-1700, and a very similar binding is illustrated in plate 35, also with a manuscript inventory number in ink on the upper cover.
A copy of this work is listed in Index bibliothecae qua Franciscus Barberinus... ad Quirinalem aedes magnificentiores reddidit (Rome, 1681), p.274. Cardinal Francesco Barberini, Urban's nephew, was a major book collector.
