A large spinach-green jade 'Lotus' vase

Qing dynasty, 19th century

of baluster form, carved in shallow relief with mandarin ducks cruising on a wavy stream among large lotus pads, the neck flanked by a pair of ram-shaped handles suspending loose rings, the cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a stepped knob, the jade of deep spinach green colour with black inclusions and paler veins
