A RETICULATED CELADON JADE CENSER AND COVER

QING DYNASTY, 18TH / 19TH CENTURY

清十八 / 十九世紀 青玉透雕蓮紋獸耳活環三足熏爐


of circular section with tapering sides carved in an openwork scrolling lotus and foliate design, set over three low cabriole legs in the form of beast masks, the base with an abstract lotus motif in low relief, the everted rim set with a pair of openwork beast-mask-form handles each suspending a loose ring, the domed cover with an openwork band of scrolling lotus beneath a ring of petal lappets, the top of the cover applied with a circular finial surrounded by three applied recumbent rams, wood stand (3)
