Condition

Overall in good condition. The surfaces with scattered scuffs, scratches, chips, dents and minor areas of discoloration consistent with age and use. The frame with a few areas which have been professionally and sensitively filled. The join at the rear proper right of the seat and backrest with a replaced area measuring approximately 2 ¾ x 3/8 x ¼ in., stable and not visually distracting. The join of the stretcher at the proper left leg is loose and with a chip measuring approximately ¾ x 5/8 in. The proper right edge of the backrest near the join with a few minor chips, not visually distracting. The rear of the seat frame with a few minor shallow dents. The rear joins of the seat frame with a few losses, which are stable. The rear of the front proper left leg with a minor loss measuring approximately 2 x ¼ in. The underside of the proper right leg base with a crack measuring approximately 3 ¼ in., stable and not visible when the chair is upright. The seat has been recaned. A simple and elegant design by Pierre Jeanneret.
