Biography
Yvonne Teng came to Sotheby's in 2000 as a member of the New York Jewellery Department. In 2013, she joined to Los Angeles office as Assistant Vice President of Jewellery, where she is instrumental in all aspects of West Coast business and client development, assisting in sales, exhibitions, appraisals, and pre and post sale activities.
As Assistant Vice President and Senior Manager, she continues to act as the key liaison between specialists and clients in both jewellery and watches for New York and international sales alike. She has been involved in many legendary collections originating in the West Coast, including the Property Formerly from the Collection of Mary Pickford; Ganna Walska; Iya, Lady Abdy; and Micheline Lerner, among others.
Ms. Teng is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and Cantonese and uses her skills to further provide strategic support to international specialists and clients. Prior to joining Sotheby's, she was the Jewellery Department head at Ritchies Auctioneers in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of Toronto, an Associate’s Degree in Museum Studies from Tufts University, and is a member of the American Society of Jewelry Historians.
